Finite Format 002 & 003
Pezo von Ellrichshausen
Finite Format 002 & 003 brings together two series of paintings produced by the study of Mauricio Pezo and Sofía von Ellrichshausen between 2014 and 2015. Each one is composed of 243 works of identical format, the result of a detailed and detailed study on the relationship between Proportion and character of a form.
The works are presented in a linear sequence that, simultaneously, dilutes and reinforces the individuality of each of the elementary figures that make up the series. The logical system that defines these architectural objects can be understood as an apparent contradiction.
It is a set of mathematical rules that, applied mechanically on the same structure, distorts it indifferent to its orientation and horizontal or vertical configuration.
The 002 and 003 series of Finite Format were first exhibited in the Czech city of Budweis between October and November 2015. These topological portraits give an account of Pezo von Ellrichshausen’s work on spatial structures and possible control mechanisms The form, from the link between variation and repetition; Also reiterate the search for logics that allow to understand and sustain the architecture project in a previous stage to the considerations on context, use and matter.
